Naturalist Illustration is at the heart of most everything I paint. My time painting backdrops at the National Zoo let me study creatures (including mankind) up close, and my decade as a docent at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum allowed me many opportunities to study and draw the beautiful and unique specimens in the museum.
