Lee is inspired by classic pin-up illustrators like Rolf Armstrong, Joyce Ballantyne, Gil Elvgren, Alberto Vargas and George Petty. His three literary-themed pin-up calendars were created to benefit Heifer International and the Clarion Workshop. These included work with authors George R. R. Martin, N.K. Jemisin, Charlaine Harris and Ray Bradbury.
